FUN on the River - Canoe and Dinner in the Park Fundraiser

Imagine slipping down the nature filled, tree lined North Branch of the Chicago River, while the sun sets above the tree line. Owls, Herons, fox and fish are part of the mix.  Laughter erupts as your adjacent kayak notices a family of ducks trying to race with you as you slide towards the next bridge. Are you in the boundary waters of Minnesota, upstate New York on the Finger lakes, or the West Virginia mountains around the next bend? The dying light dances on the water, the coolness of the evening envelops you as you paddle along witnessing nature's best delights.

Come out for an evening of paddling in the twilight and moonlight, from Clark Park at Roscoe and the River!!  Following the tour of the river, there is a fun party - catered dinner on the river bank in the new WMS Clark Park Boathouse.  A silent auction ensues throughout the evening with great items such as Blackhawk tickets, Signed Cubs apparel, passes to your favorite museum or gallery, a wine and cheese basket, all types of gift certificates from your favorite restaurant to dog grooming!

Help the community raise funds for a badly needed playground!

  1. I once participated in such event and it was amazing experience, not only you do something noble but also get a chance to meet new people. Great post, thanks for sharing it

  2. I imagined it and it was beautiful! You know how to put things in words, really. Would have definitely taken part in this if I was'nt away on a work related assignment.
